Application For Notary Public at Large – Williamson County
Procedures for Applying to be a Notary Public in Williamson County
- Complete an application and deliver to Clerk’s office at 1320 West Main Street, Franklin, TN. 37064. No fees will be assessed at that time. The meeting for approval is on the 3rd Monday of each month after filing with the Clerk. You will NOT be notified by the Clerk of your approval. You must contact the office at (615) 790-5712.
- Once approved, you must go to the Clerk’s office to take the Notary oath, sign the Notary book, and pay the Clerk’s fee of $12.00. At that time, you will be required to order a bond. (Note from BondYourself.com – we hope you will purchase your Notary Bond from us … click HERE to order your bond!) Because the Clerk requires you and the Surety to sign the bond book, a surety representative from BondYourself.com signs the book on the 4th Friday of each month.
- Now is the time to purchase your Notary seal and supplies. We encourage you to check out the supply section of BondYourself.com before purchasing your seal or supplies. Click HERE for the supply area of BondYourself.com.
- You will have to contact the Clerk’s office to obtain your commission date. They will NOT notify you of your commission dates.
- After receiving the commission dates from the Clerk, contact the surety representative with those dates. At that time, you will be issued the Errors and Omissions portion of your bond. The hard copy you receive from BondYourself.com is for your records and proof of Errors and Omissions insurance.
NOTE: Your surety bondsman cannot sign the Notary book for your bond prior to you signing it.
